Between wooded mountains, arid plains and coasts with landscapes worthy of a postcard, inhabit 600 thousand people of 7 indigenous communities who speak more than 20 native languages. They represent 20% of the population in the state of Guerrero, México. However, they also represent a vulnerable sector that lives in conditions of poverty and marginalization.  The Autonomous University of Guerrero, under its mission to be an institution with quality and social inclusion has deployed a program - with the financial aid of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and a partner University abroad - that strengthens the academic skills of indigenous women in order to prepare them to access a postgraduate program and in the future, become local leaders in their communities of origin.
