BCCIE Summer Conference provides an essential platform for the growth of BC’s International Education sector. BCCIE’s annual conference brings together more than 500 participants from our province, across Canada and beyond our borders. The conference attracts senior leaders, researchers, practitioners, student service providers, administrators, government, NGOs, and students to explore these ideas with the aim of strengthening our work and taking steps towards advancing outstanding leadership in the fields of International Education in BC.

Canadians ability to compete in a global knowledge economy is an important part of growing Canada’s economy. The importance of international experience in the development of cross-cultural adaptability, leadership skills, foreign language proficiency, and person-to-person ties is recognized as a key asset by governments, academic institutions, and employers around the world. International Experience Canada is the Government of Canada’s flagship program for facilitating international travel and work opportunities for Canadian youth. The primary objectives of the program include building the global competencies of Canadian youth, through youth mobility agreements Canada has with 34 countries.
